I never get to bed at a good time, and I feel like starting this thing is only going to make that habit worse. On the plus side this bed is soft, my room is warm, and Ryan Adams makes some wonderful music so I don’t know if going to bed is really the ideal way to spend my night.

So instead of sleep I’m sitting here typing into the vast open mouth of the internet, hoping that someone will read my mundane thoughts on everyday situations and find me at least somewhat cute and charming.

Some thoughts on being home

The snow here is beautiful. There is something unique about snow in North-East Kansas. I can’t describe it really, but the way the moon reflects on it, and the complete silence of the world walking through the neighborhood…. It’s absolutely gripping.

Of course we’re now through with Christmas, so the snow is starting to wear out its welcome. It seems that I’m always excited about the onset of winter and the prospect of snow, until Christmas day. Then it just gets ridiculous. Honestly I think that I’m just excited about sweaters, scarves, coats, and copious coffee consumption.

These are all things that wear thin quickly.

Other than the snow coming home for break has been fairly relaxed and painless. I’ve gotten the chance to catch up with everyone and really enjoy their company.

That being said I’m ready to get back to Manhattan and get life moving again. Coming home to Lansing has a way of stopping any forward progress. It’s nice in a way, because I can take the time to read, write, watch television, and generally just enjoy recreational activities for a bit. This is bad because after I few days I get antsy. I’m very excited about the opportunities to really branch out next semester and make some positive change.

An optimistic song to match my outlook,
